Elizabeth Zaras

Elizabeth Zaras, MSN, RN, FNP-C, CLCP is a certified life care planner located in Charlottesville, VA. Elizabeth graduated from University of Virginia in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science. During her undergraduate years she focused on neuroscience, psychology, and bioethics. She was a research assistant in Dr. Wendy Lynch’s lab for studying addiction. Specifically, she studied the effect of the combination of Topiramate and Ondansetron in alcohol-derived addictive behavior and neural changes in rat subjects.

After graduation, Elizabeth pursued her passion for nursing earning an associate degree in nursing from Patrick Henry Community College where she graduated first in her nursing class. She went on to obtain a Master’s in Science from James Madison University while working as a Registered Nurse at Augusta Health on the Medical/Surgical/Oncological floor. During her time nursing, Elizabeth worked closely with the case management team to develop plans of care with goal-based nursing objectives using both hospital and community resources.

In 2017, Elizabeth received board certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In her practice, Elizabeth has treated a diverse array of patients, diagnosing and managing diseases in children as well as adults, and developed treatment plans for the typically chronic conditions they face.

Elizabeth’s multifaceted background in patient care guides her assessment and development of each individual’s life care plan. As a life care planner, Elizabeth leverages a collaborative strategy and informed voice to effectively demonstrate the needs of adults and children with chronic disabling conditions.
